Pasquale Di Nicola, Global Head of Financial Services, Odevo

Why did you and your company join Odevo?
I remember my first meeting with Odevo. I thought they would pitch something like an old taxi company, but right from the start, it felt more like Uber. That shift completely changed how I saw the industry and my role in it.

What convinced me was the clarity of the vision: not disrupting for the sake of it, but driving innovation in a traditional industry through real investment in technology, data, and smarter financial solutions. It made me realise this was a place where I could build something meaningful.

You came from the fintech business?
I had co‑founded a fintech company called Monu, with smart deposit technology. Monu was working with SBC, a Swedish property management company that’s part of Odevo. They wanted to manage billions of client funds in a smarter way, and our platform was a perfect fit. The partnership became a win‑win‑win, for us, for SBC, and for their clients. The success led to us joining Odevo. Now, a couple of years later, joining Odevo is still the best decision I’ve made.

What are some examples of how your team has changed the industry?
In Sweden, many housing associations keep around a million Swedish kronor in a bank account earning 0% interest. We built an algorithm that checks every account daily and automatically moves funds not needed in the near term to an interest-bearing account, then back again when needed. It’s fully automated and the industry’s first solution of its kind. This is entirely new solutions that truly break new ground.

Another example is the UK, where we act almost like an insurance company. That lets us offer prices around 20% lower while still running a profitable model. A true win-win-win.

How integrated are Financial Services across Odevo?
Very integrated. From a customer’s perspective, it is one seamless experience. Behind the scenes, the setup may vary, but the ambition is the same everywhere: to make financial services such as insurance, loans, and banking a natural part of property management, easy to access, and designed to provide peace of mind.

How would you describe the culture at Odevo?
Horizontal and ambitious, but without fear. One of our core values is ideas over titles, and people really live it. There’s trust, transparency, and a genuine sense that we’re building something together.

What do you look forward to most?
We have already raised the bar for the industry. The next step is to become the lighthouse for how financial services should truly work within property management. Building that blueprint demands continuous innovation, day after day. That’s our ambition, and it’s what motivates me every day.
