Claire Shepherd, CEO of Odevo UK

Claire, what made you want to join Odevo?
The ambition was a big draw, Odevo isn’t just improving property management, it’s changing it. I was also struck by the combination of deep local expertise, a strong tech platform, and the culture. I found the team to be incredibly thoughtful, sharp, and humble. There’s no ego here, just a real desire to build something meaningful together. It’s rare to find a company that’s both globally ambitious and genuinely respectful of people and local leadership.

What’s unique about the UK market, and what are you working to change?
The UK market is a mix of big players and very small local operators and has traditionally been slow to adopt new technologies. There’s a real need for more transparency, better customer experiences, and smarter ways of working.

Our ambition is to lead that change, and we want to invest in people and exceptional customer experiences to realise this.  We want to be known for fairness and value, not just towards associations and boards, but for the residents who ultimately benefit from the services we deliver.

Based on your experience, why do companies choose to join Odevo?
At Odevo, we offer a unique combination of strong support through shared services and bespoke tech, with local expertise and a genuine connection with our clients.

Companies that join Odevo have already demonstrated their value, delivering services in high demand to their local market. The teams interacting with the clients will always be at the core of our operation. As part of Odevo, the goal is to continue on this path, but with the support to grow faster and run even more smoothly. For example, we can offer in-house energy and insurance brokers to lower costs for associations and, in the end, residents. Together, we create scale, expertise and value.

How will you continue to be a challenger as you grow further?
We need to keep evolving. Nowadays, people expect digital services – they want to raise a ticket through an app, not chase an email chain. Tech can also help with compliance, reporting, and preparing for future regulation. It makes our ambition scalable.

Additionally, we need to continue combining local engagement and expertise  to boards and residents, with specialised market and shared functions, developing bespoke solutions that help resolve real challenges in everyday situations. Doing this well frees up our teams to do what they do best; delivering help and support on the things that matter most. We keep decision making close to the clients, so our local teams can stay nimble, trusted, and connected to the people they serve.
